This is a antique, hand carved, wood, African stool which was tribally made from a single piece of wood by the Dogon tribe of Mali, Africa. This rare African Dogon wooden stool has geometrical carvings on the seat and features six carved sets of twin figures which represents the Dogon ancestors or Nommo. This Dogon stool measures 32 inches around the circumference of the top of the seat and is 12 inches tall and 11 inches wide. This African furniture piece weighs 8 pounds. Great antique condition with wear, some chips in the wood on the base and general cracking to the wood from age and tribal use. This specimen is very desirable and would make a fine addition to any African collection.
